5. My Story With Automation
I was working in academia in Franchise education, sending almost 1 million emails per year – while platforms like Sales Force & HubSpot were taking off.
“My interest in automation evolved as the mar-tech industry expanded, from building websites & manually sending emails, into automation.”
I wanted to build leads with automation using a system called Dotmailer that could segment openers & clickers, but lacked workflow to trigger emails.
I noticed other systems could trigger & send email sequences over days or weeks, with personalised emails for people in different stages of a lifecycle.
Later working for a Medical Institute, I trained on HubSpot & started building automated email campaigns for pre-med students with a lead-magnet (free course) to warm leads.
