Get the quizWhat are Automated Funnels?
Automated email funnels offer valuable lead-magnets to solve customer problems, & follow up with drip series emails, starting with the lead-magnet delivery (cheat sheet, checklist quiz, or eBook).
The funnel is designed to educate & nurturing new leads who discovery you with a series of emails that help solve their problem with your solution.
People start at the top of the funnel in discovery stage, then move to awareness, then consideration, & conversion with an unbelievable offer.
The elements might include a landing page, a web form, submission trigger, confirmation page, delivery email, & series emails.
It’s good to show appreciation for downloading your lead-magnet, then introduce yourself & your unique services that can solve the problem.
What are Welcome Emails?
A welcome email can be the first email received by a person after they subscribe to a newsletter, download a lead-magnet, or purchase online.
For Internet businesses, a good welcome email shows appreciation for the initial action, e.g. downloading lead-magnet, the sets expectations.
It may include a brief introduction to yourself & your mission, & reinforce your unique experiences & competitive advantages in helping people.
Start by inviting people to access more helpful information & resources with relevant links to their area of interest that are aligned to their initial action.
Build excitement & remind people why they’re here – “keep moving towards your dream Internet business & achieve your goal faster.”
Try including a CTA bonus gift or resource, or trial offer, to show appreciation. I once received a tyre pressure gauge gift from a car insurance company, which made a great impression.
What are Onboarding Emails?
Onboarding emails are usually one of the first emails a person receives after they subscribed to a service, system, or group like a mastermind.
They can explain the schedule of events, what resources & support is available to members, group rules, & what steps or programs exist for progressing to VIP membership.
A charity lottery might show their appreciation by thanking new supporters & showcasing their five best prize homes to strengthen the dream.
In the first week, supporters could be emailed a series that included major causes, winner stories, VIP program outline, & an App download reminder to build a relationship.
Canva’s onboarding includes a quick tutorial & links to design templates, which helps users to start creating, & an offer to trial Canva Pro for 30 days.
Adobe thanks their subscribers for the purchase, advises on their auto renewal, & asks people to confirm their new Adobe account, with a CTA.
Unsplash welcomes new members, promotes browsing images immediately, & informs how they exist to solve the pain of finding images for people.
What are Follow-up Emails?
Automated Follow-up emails play a key role in building the dream, nurturing the relationship, & beginning the process towards a goal.
A 14-day Follow-up Series might send (e1) 1 day after the LM delivery to remind how to get started, & reassure you’re on the right path for the goal.
Schedule in 2 days (e2) follow-up reinforcing the goal with mindset help & other how to progress information with some actionable next steps.
Schedule in 2 days (e3) follow-up asking for feedback on the lead-magnet, or if any history with the topic, or if specific assistance is needed.
Schedule in 2 days (e4) send follow-up with information & CTA for your best value offer related to the LM problem & solution.
Schedule in 2 days (e5) send follow-up with information on how to achieve the goal, e.g. an invitation to a discovery call, or to watch a recording.
Schedule in 2 days (e6) send follow-up on the lifestyle benefits of achieving the goal, e.g. Internet entrepreneurs can work from anywhere.
Schedule in 2 days (e7) send follow-up on the personal benefits of achieving the goal, e.g. change of pace & working on your own schedule.
What are Reactivation Emails?
Reactivation emails can be used to motivate dormant customers to engaged again, remembering their dream & goals, & how they benefited.
You might target customers who have been inactive for 1-2 years, who have been quarantined from your email list, to assist email reputation.
Start by acknowledging inactivity, e.g. “We Miss You”, show understanding for the absence & why it’s the perfect time to come back with an offer.
For the Openers, follow-up next day with a “Welcome Back – this is the best time to achieve your dream”, & remind about unbelievable offer solution.
For Non-openers, pivot away from email channel & switch to SMS, as many of these emails are no longer used or monitored.
Send SMS “We Miss You” linked to a landing page that has the same messaging as the original email with the unbelievable offer solution.
Recipients who convert from the unbelievable offer then drop out of the reactivation email sequence from a tag or step filter.
